Biography:

Though the English poet Thomas Gray (1716-1771) only published thirteen poems in his lifetime, he is still considered one of the great literary figures of the mid-18th century. Gray is linked with the Graveyard Poets, a group whose poems tended to be preoccupied with death. Though he wrote both serious and light verse, he is best known for his elegies.
