Biography: 

The English Renaissance poet Thomas Campion (1567-1620) studied law and medicine, before practicing as a physician in London. Campion composed songs as well as verse, and he wrote the libretti for masques that were performed in King James’s court. Interested in the relationship between music and poetry, Campion dedicated himself to unifying the two arts.
