Biography: 

Inspired by the Imagists, Raymond Knister (1899-1932) favoured spare language in his poetry. Born in Ruscomb, Ontario, Knister also wrote fiction, criticism, and journalism, winning a national prize for My Star Predominant, his novel about the life of the poet John Keats. He drowned while swimming in Lake St. Clair.
