Biography

American poet, fiction writer, critic, and scholar, Nathaniel Mackey is the author of more than a dozen books. A graduate of Princeton and Stanford universities, Mackey is currently the Reynolds Price Professor of English at Duke University. His work, for which Mackey has won many awards, including the National Book Award for poetry, is heavily influenced by his interest in music, particularly jazz. In addition to publishing experimental fiction and poetry, he has edited the arts journal Hambone since 1982 and worked as a non-commercial radio DJ for more than thirty years.
