Biography: 

Best-known for her novel Wuthering Heights, Emily Brontë (1818-1848) was born in Thornton, England. She was the second eldest of the famous literary Brontë sisters; Charlotte was the eldest and Anne the youngest. In order to hide the fact that she was a woman, she published many of her works under the pseudonym Ellis Bell.
