Biography
Though born in Massachusetts, Elizabeth Bishop spent part of her early childhood living with her grandparents in Great Village, Nova Scotia, and their house is now used as an artists’ retreat. Bishop won many prestigious awards during her lifetime, including the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award, and she served a term as Poet Laureate of the United States.
