Freelance work: Write a lesson or unit plan for Poetry In Voice

We are delighted to announce that our mission now includes providing poetry teaching resources to primary and middle school teachers in addition to our existing resources for high school teachers.

As experienced teachers and writers of poetry, we are asking that you submit your lesson and unit plan ideas to us by Tuesday, February 23. Please also feel free to forward this email to other teachers and writers. The process is very simple: Just fill out our online form and give us a summary of your idea.

We are looking for a variety of lesson plans for different grade ranges: kindergarten, grades 1-3, grades 4-6, grades 7 and 8, and grades 9-12. If you would like to propose an entire poetry unit that includes several different lesson plans, please do so.

Please note that submitted lessons and units must be your original work and must not infringe on someone else’s intellectual property.

Poetry In Voice will consider all submissions and, in late February, will commission some to be written in full. Poetry In Voice will pay $350 for each completed lesson or unit plan submitted by Friday, April 29.

We are looking forward to creating an archive of the best poetry teaching practice in Canada today. We hope you can join us.

Please contact Sepideh Anvar should you have any questions.
