With the help of thousands of teachers, Poetry In Voice has inspired over 250,000 students to learn a poem by heart. And you’ll never guess how many times our poems have been read (hint: think in the millions!).

WHAT A YEAR IT’S BEEN!
Poet In Class Program
Thanks to our partnership with the Canada Council for the Arts, over 200 teachers had a poet in their classes, encouraging their students to write, read, recite, and think more about poetry.
We’re expanding our poet network to better meet the enormous demand for these visits. We’ll start accepting requests for the next year's program in September.
National Finals
Between the spellbinding performances, the poetry-themed scavenger hunt, and the poet-led workshops, our 24 finalists took Toronto by storm. Read this great article from the Toronto Star.

Team Regionals
Back by popular demand, we hosted a total of nine Team Regionals in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec in 2018.

WHAT’S NEW FOR NEXT YEAR?
This fall, we’ll be launching a student poetry journal and a recitation contest for younger students.
And keep your eyes peeled for some incredible additions to our anthology selected by the members of our new editorial board: Damian Rogers, Richard Harrison, Hoa Nguyen, and Joshua Whitehead.
