2016 National Finals: Awards Show

The student audience from all over Toronto arrive at the Isabel Bader Theatre. The livestream team prepares to broadcast the show. The judges are ready. Enzo Campa recites  “Annabel Lee” by Edgar Allan Poe. Gabrielle Nebrida-Pepin recites “Qui es-tu ?” by Francis Bebey. Nebou N’Diaye recites “i am graffiti” by Leanne Simpson. Marie Foolchand recites “I Am the People, the Mob” by Carl Sandburg. In the French Stream Jeanne Cantin, Juliette Rolland Apergis and Geneviève Cantin take a bow. All 39 National Finalists arrive on stage. French judges Marie-Célie Agnant and Denise Desautels enjoy the show. English Stream competitors Nebou N’Diaye, Enzo Campa and Hannah Goodridge after the show Bilingual Stream competitors Marie Foolchand, Elizabeth Vaz and Gabrielle Nebrida-Pepin after the show In the evening, students, teachers and judges gathered for a cabaret.Our Creative Director Damian Rogers hosted the event. Poet and judge Mathew Henderson read a few of his poems. Mallory Moore read a poem she wrote during the student workshop. Paolo M. Hermogenes wowed the audience with a spoken word poem. The audience loved all the poems read at the cabaret. Elizabeth Vaz and Daniya Gulzar negotiate with the DJ . . . . . . successfully.
